Hybrid Tea Roses, the most familiar and popular class of modern roses, combine the flower form and colors of tea roses with rigid, upright stems which made them excellent for cutting.  They benefit from rich soil, even moisture, and hard pruning each spring.  Although often planted by themselves, they actually look best in the mixed border, where companion plants can often their bare stems.  Continuous flowering is ensured by removing spent blooms.  The size is variable, averaging 4 feet tall and wide and contains an enormous color range.
