Trail Greenhouse is a family operated greenhouse that has been in business
for the past 14 years. In 2003, our greenhouse opened daily to the
public from April through October. Then we spend 3 months searching
for plants with a mix of the latest introductions, natives,
heirlooms, unusual plants, as well as the tried and true. We are
always on the lookout for a plant that we haven't tried before. We
start the planting season in February with the arrival of our bare root
roses and work non stop to get as much started for our April 1st official
opening. The majority of our plants are grown from seed, cuttings,
bare root or plugs at our greenhouses near Lyons. This makes the
plants more suited to our Colorado climate than plants shipped in fully
grown from more temperate climates. Each spring we offer a large
variety of heirloom tomato plants and colorful hanging baskets.
It is important to us that when you purchase a plant from us
that you can be confident that it will succeed in your garden AND at the
same time, experience a pleasant, enjoyable and informative shopping
environment in a rural setting. It is much more than a business to
us, it is about creating a relationship with you based on a shared passion
for plants and gardening. Each year we plant our test gardens with
new plants so you can see how they grow in the Colorado climate.
